Shannon's ever-evolving study started as a toddler when her parents introduced her to the foundations of yoga, meditation and Self-realization.
She began her professional career in the healing arts at Irene's Myomassology Institute in Southfield, MI with a license in massage therapy. She then became certified in oncology/hospital massage therapy and as a Reiki Master Level III.
She received yoga teacher training from a variety of schools. The first was rooted in Krishnamacharya and Pattabhi Jois's lineage of ashtanga. She then furthered her study in a 3-year yoga therapy program at Beaumont Hospital’s School of Integrative Medicine where she learned from and collaborated with physicians and other healthcare practitioners working directly with inpatients. Her last training was through the Golden Lotus Yoga Teachers Association at Song of the Morning Yoga and Meditation Retreat in Northern Michigan.
Here, she immersed herself in living a yogic lifestyle for about 5 years. In 2021, she became initiated into Paramahansa Yogananda's kriya yoga lineage through the Self-Realization Fellowship.
Shannon has worked as a massage and yoga therapist in a variety of hospitals and medical clinics and has led yoga teacher training programs. She now owns a humble yoga and wellness practice where she teaches public classes, offers one-on-one therapy sessions, leads spiritual retreats and monthly women's circles.
